In the early hours of Saturday morning last week, Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) reports that a car wreck occurred involving a driver going the wrong way, hitting an officer, who was driving in the right direction.
This early morning car accident occurred on Ga. 92, north of Annewakee Road. As a result, the officer from Cobb County, Officer Captain David Gallmon, faces a DUI charge.
As Capt. Gallmon was driving in his Mercury Marquis around 2 a.m. last Saturday, a Chevrolet Cavalier traveled north in the southbound lane. As the Cavalier was driving the wrong direction, the car struck Capt. Gallmon’s car. Because of this car crash, the driver, who had no identification with him, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The driver will also face charges from this car crash. Right now there is an internal investigation underway and Capt. Gallmon has been reassigned from precinct captain to administrative duties, according to AJC.
