This summer, Childers, Schlueter & Smith (CSS) is pleased to welcome a talented group of interns who are gaining firsthand experience while making meaningful contributions throughout the firm.
From legal research and litigation support to client communication, case organization, and administrative projects, Carly Evans, MaKenna Smith, Jared Carlson, and Evan Atkinson have worked alongside our attorneys and staff on matters that affect clients in Georgia and across the country.
We are proud to introduce our summer interns and share more about the work they’ve been doing, their educational backgrounds, and the interests they pursue outside the office.
CARLY EVANS — Summer Associate
Carly Evans is a rising 3L at Georgia State University College of Law. As a summer intern, Carly has worked closely with the mass torts team on high-profile matters like NEC, Hair Relaxer, and Zantac litigation, as well as the single-event team on discovery and deposition prep. Under the mentorship of Brandon, Jed, Neil, and Andy, she has honed her skills in legal research, client communication, and pleading drafts. Carly is passionate about growing as a future litigator and, in her free time, loves hanging out with her cat, Boo.
MAKENNA SMITH — Summer Intern
MaKenna is a high school summer intern who assists our attorneys and the CSS team with a variety of projects that help keep cases moving forward. She supports case organization, document management, and other administrative tasks while learning about the legal process and the importance of providing compassionate service to our clients. Through her work, MaKenna helps our team deliver the care, attention, and responsiveness that our clients deserve throughout their cases.
JARED CARLSON — Summer Intern
Jared is currently a senior at Texas A&M University. He has been working alongside the attorneys and staff at CSS as a Pre-Litigation Admin, assisting in organizing case materials, updating clients, drafting and sending case-related letters, and learning more about the day-to-day practice of law. Outside of work, Jared enjoys following Texas Aggie athletics, getting pup-cups with his dog, and trying new coffee shops.
EVAN ATKINSON — Summer Associate
Evan is a rising second-year student at Mercer University School of Law. He has been gaining practical litigation experience by drafting motions and complaints, researching a wide range of legal issues, and assisting attorneys with trial preparation across numerous matters.
