Palmyra Bologna Company from Pennsylvania, according to Baltimore Sun, recently announced a recall of 23,000 pounds of Lebanon bologna. The recall arises from the high risk of E. coli contamination in these products.
The “fermented semi-dry sausage” was distributed in the states of California, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado, and New York. Four people in North Carolina, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania developed a sickness between January 28 and February 12, 2011. Federal investigations connected these individuals’ illnesses is linked to these recalled products.
The affected products subject to the recall are the following:
- -6-ounce packages of “SELTZER’S BEEF LEBANON BOLOGNA” with lot code “01351” and best-by date of “Apr. 20 2011” printed on the package.
- 12-ounce packages of “SELTZER’S BEEF LEBANON BOLOGNA” with lot code “01351” and best-by dates of “Apr. 20 2011” or “Apr. 21 2011” printed on the package.
- 16-ounce packages of “SELTZER’S BEEF LEBANON BOLOGNA” with lot code “01351” and best-by date of “Apr. 22 2011” printed on the package.
