2023 Safe City Scholarship Winner

We are excited to announce the winner of our 2023 Safe City Scholarship: Adelina D’Orazio!

Adelina D’Orazio

My name is Adelina D’Orazio, I am 22 years old and living in Long Island, New York. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology at SUNY Farmingdale, where I graduated a year early at the top of my class! My love for psychology is what makes me so passionateabout the Mental Health crisis, of which I wrote my essay about for this scholarship. I am about to pursue my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, on track to receive my counseling license by 2028!

I am absolutely thrilled and deeply grateful for being awarded this scholarship! It is an incredible honor to be recognized, especially for my passion about improving the mental healthcare system. My journey to becoming a licensed mental health counselor is not easy nor cheap, but this opportunity undoubtedly provides significant assistance for me. Thank you for helping me help others, believing in my potential, and sending me on my way to improve mental healthcare in any way that I can.
