2022 Safe City Scholarship Winner

We are excited to announce the winner of our 2022 Safe City Scholarship: RileyAnn Jimenez!

Below is a short biography and reaction shared with us by our winner:

RileyAnn Jimenez

Hi! I am RileyAnn, I am 23 years old & engaged, we have a 2 year old daughter and a little boy expected to join us on Christmas Day of 2022! I am a sophomore at Southern New Hampshire University pursuing a dual Bachelor’s degree in Business and Healthcare Administration. Statistically speaking, I was not supposed to succeed. I was born and raised by parents who suffer from drug addiction and was raised well below the poverty line my whole life. Once I turned 16 I took my life into my own hands and have been determined to be a success since. I have maintained a 4.0 G.P.A. my entire college career and have since been invited to the national honor’s society. I plan to use my degree to utilize future opportunities in the healthcare administration field.

I am honored to have won this scholarship! Having a successful corporation choosing and investing into my education makes me feel as if I can accomplish anything. When I read the email stating I had won it felt surreal – shortly after a whirlwind of emotions from excitement, disbelief, and thankfulness rushed through me. It’s because of people like Childers Schlueter & Smith investing into scholarships that people like me can continue on in their educational endeavors. I am so grateful and offer my deepest gratitude to them!
