A Monday night rollover vehicle wreck on Sunday September 26, 2011 has left a 4 year old boy in critical condition.
A drunk driver was driving a Mustang convertible southbound on the 4800 block of Mike Padgett Highway, just south of Horseshoe Road when the vehicle ran off the southbound shoulder and rolled over. The roll over wreck occurred around 11:12 p.m.
The driver was Chasity Weston, 27 years old. There was a four year old and five year old who were passengers in the vehicle. Weston was moved from Medical Hospital of Georgia Hospital to Doctors Hospital, according to the Augusta Chronicle. The four year old is at MCG Hospital but there is no further information on the five year old.
When the vehicle rolled over, Weston and the four and five year old were ejected from the vehicle. The responding deputies said that Weston “reeked” of alcohol.
There is a current investigation into the rollover wreck. Weston is facing the charge of Driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to maintain a lane. This isn’t the first run in with alcohol that Weston has had. Weston was charged in August 2010 with driving with a suspended license and a month later, she was charged with DUI. Weston’s actions were completely reckless and completely unacceptable.
